Biomedical and clinical technology – the two-year Master Program
The interdisciplinary master program Biomedical and Clinical Technology is continual educational program on similar bachelor program. This program has three educational branches:
- Biomedical Engineer (offered in English for self-funding students)
- Appliances and Methods for Biomedicine
- Systematic Integration of Processes in Health Service
For the study graduates of relative bachelor branches are accepted – especially with technical, scientific and economically intent on – all public and private universities. Two advised master educational branches are unlikely shaped to comply with wide spectrum of bachelors.

The branch "Biomedical Engineer" offered in English has to specializations "Medical Instrumentation" and "Medical Imaging Instrumentation".
- Study plan of specialization Medical Instrumentation for academic year 2012/2013
- Study plan of specialization Medical Imaging Instrumentation for academic year 2012/2013 (for academic year 2012/2013 won´t be offered)
The branch "Appliances and Methods for Biomedicine" prepares engineers for work during development and utilization of complicated instrumentations in biology and medicine. Graduates will get on one side the knowledge in the sphere of optics and optical apparatus, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, measurement hardware in medicine, spectroscopy, biocompatible materials and application of lasers in biomedicine and on the other side they will get the acquainted with molecular biology, simulation physiology systems, cytology a cytogenetics.
The branch "Systematic Integration of Processes in Health Service" is intended on the preparation of engineers for the organizing-technical work in hospitals, hygienic stations, commercial sphere and so on. Students of this branches obtains the theoretical knowledge and the practical experience not only in the technical, or more precisely the economical branches, but in needed measure also in biology and medicine. This makes it possible to convert the graduates on the sanitation environment and the communication with doctors, other medical staff and with the workers in the biological branches.
Qualification readiness and measure of professional adaptability for conditions and requirements of praxis
A graduate student will receive deep theoretical and practical knowledge related to research, manufacturing, operation and maintenance of medical technique mainly within medical institution. With respect to broad study fundamentals he/she will be able to apply in all areas utilizing medical technique.
Study organization framework
The study is suggested for two years, finalized by elaborating of master thesis, defending the thesis and passing master Fnal state examination. It is a university education which is a part of so called structured undergraduate study (after the Bologna declaration).
Final State Examination
Topics for Final State Examination for master study for srtudy program Biomedical and Clinical Technology are are constituted as a minimum theoretical and practical knowledge for sucessfull realisation of graduates in praxis. The topics and individual items are derived from subjects of the study branch. A studen selects topics from a given list of topics. For study branch "Appliances and Methods for Biomedicine" two topics are mandatory and one is facultative. For study branch "Systematic Integration of Processes in Health Service" all topics are mandatory. It is strongly recomended to consult the selection of topics with his/her tutor for master thesis. The topics should correspond with the orientation of the batchelor thesis. During the Final state examination questions from the topics will be asked. Questions can be related to the thema of the master thesis as well. The questions are asked by the Final state examination commitee. The head of the commitee can deternmine other person to ask question. The student answers immediately, without any written preparation.
The main topics for branch "Appliances and Methods for Biomedicine" are
- Theoretical Fundaments of Biomedical Technology (mandatory)
- Technology Utilization in Biology and Medicine (mandatory)
- Electrotechnology and Electronics for Biomedicine
- Optics and Spectroscopy for Biomedicine
- Lasers and Modern Techniques for Biomedicine
The main topics for branch "Systematic Integration of Processes in Health Service" are
- Health Care Technology
- Economics and Management
- Basic Diagnostic and Therapeutic Methods
